Microblading Aftercare

Aftercare is important.

Microblading aftercare is important to consider before booking your procedure. Your Microblading procedure comes with post care. We recommend you do not wear contact lenses to your appointment.

POST-TREATMENT GUIDE

The following guide will help you care for your fresh brows. Following the microblading aftercare will ensure you achieve best results. Your brows may feel sore and bruised immediately following your procedure; this usually dissipates within 12 hours.

Follow the POST-TREATMENT GUIDE until your brows have completely flaked and healed. The healing process can take up to 10 days and varies with each individual.

1. Hot temperatures will irritate your brows during the first 12 hours, therefore remain indoors and fan if necessary.

2. DO NOT touch brow with unwashed hands, doing so can cause infection.

3. DO NOT soak brows. Showers and baths are safe; keep your brows away from direct water contact as this may cause color to fade.

4. Face washing and moisturizing instructions:

  • Gently cleanse lower half and forehead with your daily cleanser in the morning. When rinsing cleanser, use a warm face cloth avoiding drip from forehead onto brows.
  • Dampen a clean gauze or cotton pad with the POST CLEANSER and gently wipe brows in outward motion. Blot dry with dry gauze/pad.
  • Once your brows begin scab or flake, apply a small amount of the POST CREAM over the brows after washing in the morning and evening.

5. DO NOT use ANY makeup or SPF directly over the brow area until brows have completely healed. This may alter color tone or blur strokes.

6. AVOID direct sunlight, this can cause the pigment to fade and irritate the skin.

7. DO NOT pick or lift scabs or flakes from brows, this may pull the pigment prematurely causing fading or gaps in strokes.

8. Brow can be lightly tweezed around area treated but not directly over for 3 weeks. Waxing procedure can be performed 4 weeks following procedure.

Microblading Eyebrows

Microblading is an art form.

Microblading eyebrows and brow tattooing is an art that requires attention to detail and continuous practice to perfect this art form. Skilled artists will develop a signature style throughout the years that will draw like-minded clients to their services. Selecting the right artist to match your unique style is key to attaining the ideal brows.

What is the Dérmica style?

Our goal is to achieve a versatile brow finish that blends seamlessly into your natural brow and compliments your features. The finished look can be dressed up with a little color or worn bare for a fresh-faced look.

Identifying your brow needs

In the consultation for microblading eyebrows, we assess your existing growth and discuss your desired look. With this information, we can select the appropriate level of coverage to suit your needs. Whether its a Level 1, 2, or 3, your brows will be topped up or fully restored to their most natural finish.

Shaping

The microblading service begins with a personalized mapping of your brow area. This map provides a precise guide for the sketch of the brow shape to be bladed. The guide ensures that the shape suits your facial structure and aligns appropriately with your other features.

Hair Strokes

Each stroke is placed following your natural hair growth lending way to a multidimensional brow that flows with the existing brows. Each brow is assessed individually and hair stroke placement, length, and thickness are choosing accordingly.

Colour

Your brow colour is chosen by evaluating the undertone of your skin vs your hair tone, and from there creating a customized color blend. This process ensures that your color compliments your features and holds its true tone once healed.

Refresher

Although your brows may look amazing on the initial date of service, the healed finish can differ. We want to ensure that your brows are up to par with your expectations, for that reason, we include a complimentary Refresher session in our microblading services.

This session includes a top-up of any color that may have not retained or minor adjustments or additions leaving you with a finish that can last up to 3 years. Also, considering how unique our skin is, we allow our guests up to 12 months to book the Refresher visit.

Professional brow styling can make a world of a difference and save valuable time when you’re getting ready for your day. We are keen on helping you look your best and understand that brows play an important role in your overall appearance, we hope to be your choice for your microblading!

What can I expect after microblading?

Microblading Transition Process

We have listed a few bits of information to help explain what you may see for the first 15 days post-microblading.

1. Patchy coverage

This is normal to see in the first 7-10 days. The areas where you see dark patches are still in the process of moving the pigment up towards the surface and shedding the skin above. The lighter areas are those where the skin has already shed and has revealed fresh skin growth. They should even out by day 10.

2. Missing areas

These faint areas are covered with fresh skin cells. The new cells are full of “juice” and plumper than what we typically have at the surface of the skin.

Once the skin moves this layer of fresh cells (which contains the bulk of our micro-pigment) up to the surface they will dry and flatten. The strokes and pigment will then reappear and give us a proper measure of colour retention by approximately week 2.

3. Brows are lighter brown with pink undertone

While your skin is still in the recovery phase, it will have higher cellular activity at the site of repair thereby making the skin appear flushed. This undertone in the skin will temporarily alter the colour of the brows. The skin can take up 3 months to completely restructure, but you’re true colour typically shows before that around week 2.

Microblading Levels

Microblading Before and After Pic
Microblading LEVEL II- Before and After

“My brows aren’t bad enough for microblading.” 🗯

Perhaps not… but have you considered what adding extra volume to your brows will do for your face?

👉the EYES 👁👁

Full brows will bring attention to your eyes.  Therefore, your ideal brow colour should compliment your natural hair and eye colour. Your technician will blend a custom colour to create the best possible colour match.

👉the FACE 🙂

Microblading helps correct asymmetry caused by minor differences between your left and right brow. Your technician will take facial measurements to ensure the most flattering brow shape to frame your face shape.

3 Microblading Levels

Dérmica offers 3 microblading levels to help you achieve your dream brows.

1. LEVEL I – up to 30% additional coverage.

If all you’re looking for is a little extra volume, a LEVEL I is all you need.  LEVEL I clients have an existing shape in their brows, no major correction is needed. In other words, just some strokes here and there.  LEVEL I Microblading is often opted for by clients that want to correct minor mistakes such as over plucking of the tail or arch.

2. LEVEL II- up to 60% additional coverage.

If you want to thicken the shape of your brows, you most likely need a LEVEL II.

LEVEL II Microblading requires your technician to create a new shape using your existing brow shape. Multiple corrections are made on a LEVEL II procedure. Often, strokes are added to the bottom AND top of your existing brow line as well as adding strokes to the tails for a finished look from beginning to end.

3. LEVEL III- up to 100% additional coverage.

Clients who require a LEVEL III procedure have very little to no brow shape. Using geometry to take in-depth measurements, the technician creates a brow shape to last you 2-3 years.

Microblading vs Lamination

microblading vs lamination

What is the difference between microblading vs brow lamination? 🤔

While both end results shown by the image above look similar, we’re talking apples and oranges when comparing microblading vs lamination.

LONGEVITY

Brow lamination is a brow perm whereas microblading is a brow tattoo. In other words, lamination is temporary and lasts usually between 4-6 weeks. On the other hand, microblading is semipermanent. Because it goes into the layers of the skin, it lasts on average 2.5 years.

MINIMUM BROW REQUIREMENTS

Brow lamination requires you to have natural brow hair in order to hide gaps, like a brow “comb over” if you will. 😊 In addition to hiding gaps in your eyebrows, it straightens unruly brow hair acting like water-resistant, 24-hour brow gel. This in effect makes your brows look as full as naturally possible.

Microblading adds hair like strokes and is the solution for people with very sparse, thin, or non-existent brow hair. The look is achieved by carefully placing each individual hair stroke on the skin, building a beautiful and natural brow from very little to no hair.
