What is Microblading?
What is Microblading?
One of our much loved brow clients recently booked herself in for a Microblading procedure. In her booking, she attached a question that we thought many of you might be wondering. So, with her approval, we have decided to publish for you all.
Q: What exactly is involved in Microblading….should I be scared?
A: Microblading is basically a type of tattoo, but instead of applying solid ink, we make small incisions which look like hair strokes in the skin and deliver tint into the incisions.
A little blood is drawn and the procedure has to be done safely, precisely, and in a clean environment. The technician has to keep everything sanitized while using proper techniques and pressure so as to not go too deep into the skin (going too deep would make it a permanent tattoo). In addition, the technician has to create an immaculate brow shape and stick to the predetermined design (approved by you) before making any incisions (since it is long lasting). It requires high levels of competency and talent.
It is scary if you don’t know what to expect from the technician doing your procedure, but you know us and you know the kind of work we do, so you have nothing to fear! Also, we use an anesthetic gel to make the procedure as painless as possible. Everybody is different, but the last client we had for microblading said she felt no pain at all :)
Also, with the post care we provide, we help prep your skin and take good care of it after so you heal properly which will maximize the longevity of your new brows, and also recover your skin from the damage it endures in that area during the procedure.
The maximum amount of active healing time is 10 days. Your brows will fade a little and they will look very natural (if the right colour is chosen). During the healing process, your skin will shed around your brows a little. The 2nd day is the worst I would say, after that it starts showing improvement. Expect your brows to be a little itchy as they heal.
I hope this puts your mind at ease :) Let us know if you have any other questions.
Love, Peace, and Great Skin!
