I usually don’t experience acne, but I started breaking out a lot in June. I decided to get a pore facial and photofacial done with Jhoenna, and I’m amazed at how my skin cleared up over the weekend! Dermica is my favourite skin care place in Edmonton! I’m someone who likes to try new places but this is the one place I always come back to.
I’ve had acne my whole life and my regular facials here keep it under control. I’ve been going here for 5 years now and my skin is always better when I leave.
Whenever my skin has some breakouts I come for a facial and within a day after my treatment my skin is clear again like magic!

I had an amazing experience at Dermica today! The facial and massage were absolutely fantastic. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with a good vibe.
I opted for “relax facial” which left my skin glowing and rejuvenated, and the products they used were really affective. The massage was equally incredible done by Johanna. it was just the right balance of relaxation and soothing.
Johanna did my facial and is the best, ensuring i was comfortable throughout the session. The ambiance of the salon, with its soothing music and calming scents, made the experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend!!

A word to the wise: the pore extraction facial hurts like a bee. I wept and my face was red for a day. But my God, was it worth it. My skin is so clear and bright. The texture has calmed considerably. I would recommend bracing yourself for the pain of it, but know it’ll make you look radiant.
The salon was clean and easy to locate. Sylvia did a fantastic job and let me know what she was planning to do so there was no surprises. I have lash extensions on and she treated them with great care so they wouldn’t steam off. I’m thrilled.

This facial is used to rebalance combination skin types and restore glowing skin, thereby allowing you to part with your oily forehead.
The PORE Facial includes all the essentials of a classic facial with an emphasis on clearing congested skin by extracting blackheads, milia, and other skin blemishes.
After a thorough skin analysis where we determine your skin type and condition, we begin the treatment by removing build-up and debris from the skin. This allows for proper product penetration and supple, glowing skin.

How often should you have a facial?
We generally recommend booking every 4-6 weeks. However, this period depends on your age, skin type, and even work environment!
When we are young we tend to have oilier skin. This results in acne breakouts which we in turn try to cover up with cheap makeup. At least we were using cheap makeup back then!
Although our skin is tight and our pores are relatively small in our youth, years of this cycle make way for the changes we see as we age.
Environmental factors
There are certain environmental factors that will increase the rate at which your pores need a cleanup. Restaurant workers, particularly those in the kitchen, may see their skin become congested over time. This in part can be due to higher than normal temperatures. Those working outdoors during the summer may experience the same, due to similar reasons.
Do facials help with wrinkles?
Facials help with wrinkles to a certain degree: The exfoliation included in our facials will clear away your skin allowing products to be better absorbed. Our BACK Treatment, also known as a “back facial”, is up to 75-minutes in treatment time. It is our treatment of choice for active acne breakouts.
It begins with a deep pore cleanse followed by exfoliation. The exfoliation process removes build up and dead skin on your back. After that, a relaxing steam session warms and softens the skin in preparation for manual extractions.
A custom mask application delivers nutrients through a relaxing massage on your back. Moisture care is applied. The Back Treatment is meant to maintain skin balance, clear infected blemishes, and of course, to pamper ;)
2. Back Acid Peel. Treatment for back acne scars.
Our BACK ACID PEEL treatment is a Professional AHA/BHA Chemical Peel. This treatment is designed to balance the skin’s pH, lift scarring, and help prevent future breakouts. These treatments are ideal for problematic acne prone skin.
WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?
A chemical peel is a medical esthetic procedure. It safely removes the outer layers of the skin through the application of organic acids derived from various natural sources. This process brings fresh new cells to the surface of the skin giving it a healthy, smooth and even appearance.
