The esthetician first preps the area by disinfecting and applying a protective barrier to the skin. The warm wax is then applied using a wooden spatula and covered with a cloth strip; this is referred to as strip waxing or soft waxing. The strip is then quickly pulled off parallel to the skin and voilà your skin is left smooth and hair free!
Prior to booking a wax service ensure your hair is at least ¼ inch long, and has not been sunburned, treated with AHA/BHA, or prescription acne medications. Avoid caffeine for a couple hours before your appointment to reduce sensitivity. Results are visible for about 2 weeks, with 4-6 weeks before you are ready for your next visit. After care for waxing includes: avoiding heat, sun exposure, strong/fragranced, lotions, and washes for 24 hours and frequent skin exfoliation.
IPL- Long term hair removal
For a permanent solution, opt for IPL hair removal treatments. These advanced treatments should only be performed by trained and certified technicians. They are somewhat of an investment and can cause injury to your skin if not delivered properly, so do your research and make sure operational requirements are met by both the business and technician.

Though waxing is considered a basic esthetics service, it can have side effects such as lifting of the skin. We take precautions to ensure your waxing service goes smoothly. As a result, your service provider will ask you a few questions to ensure you meet the criteria for this service.
The following are waxing precautions. Please discontinue usage of the following product ingredients 1 week prior to your appointment date.
AHA/BHA
AHA/BHA acids are ideal for treating active acne conditions, dry skin, pigmentation, and fine lines. However, they can cause the skin to become sensitized to waxing.
These acids vary in degrees of intensity, thereby, can pose a risk for lifting of the skin in area being waxed. Please discontinue use of prescribed AHA/BHA one week prior to your waxing appointment.
Hydroquinone
Hydroquinone is a powerful lightening agent and can cause the skin to become highly sensitized.
Please discontinue use of prescribed hydroquinone one week prior to your waxing appointment.
Retinols
Retinols have the power to smooth skin by stimulating collagen production and cell turnover.
This powerful ingredient can also cause the skin to be sensitized to waxing, and pose a risk for lifting the skin in area being waxed.
Please discontinue use of prescribed retinols one week prior to your waxing appointment.

Is Waxing Safe?
Waxing has contraindications and therefore we must take precaution to ensure your waxing service goes smoothly. Your waxing technician will gather some medical history information to confirm that your waxing service can be performed safely.
Waxing Contraindications- Medications
ACCUTANE– you must wait 12 months after last use before your waxing service.
Prescription acne medications– consult with a physician before booking your waxing service. Skin may remain compromised for 6-12 months after use.
Prescribed topical Retinols or Vitamin A– consult your physician before booking your service.
