Microblading- The Magical Cure for Sad Brows

Amazing brows are just one spa appointment away! Whatever your brows look like, our brow artists will take you from ‘dud’ to ‘stud‘, from ‘nice pal’ to ‘hot gal‘, and better still, ‘just a friend’ to ‘must attend‘!

In microblading, your brows are skillfully etched into shape by combining our signature brow design with top-of-the-line products and techniques. Your brows are designed by our experts using measurements of your natural facial structure, and any desired personal touches.

Each individual hair stroke is carefully etched on the skin, building a beautiful and natural brow that lasts up to 3 years.

Our spa is located on Whyte avenue in Edmonton; Our microblading price depends on the level you need. Eyebrows come in all different shapes and sizes. For this reason, our prices are based on the percentage of additional brow the artist needs to design and etch. In effect, Level 3 procedures are by comparison much longer than those considered Level 1. Given these points, we find it is best to offer 3 levels of microblading.

MICROBLADING EDMONTON PRICE PER LEVEL:

Level II : Remodel brow your shape, balance highly uneven brows, fill-in gaps, scars, increase density and thickness in sparse brows. Includes 60% brow coverage and 1 Refresher which can be booked within 12 months following initial procedure. $450

BROW MAPPING

Once you are settled in, the technician will begin a thorough consultation. The consultation includes colour selection and brow mapping.

Brow mapping provides a precise outline of the microblading. The outline gives you a guide of the areas in need of fill, and ensures that the shape suits your face and aligns with your other features.

Once you have approved the design created by your technician, she proceeds with numbing your skin.

Quick Tips for Procedure Day

  • Seeing that you must try to keep your brows dry, arrive to your appointment with freshly-washed hair. This will help you avoid wetting your brows in the shower for the first 2 days after your procedure.
  • In the same fashion, try to arrive at your appointment with a fresh face.
  • Numbing time is usually half an hour. With this is mind, clients like to bring something to occupy their time. In any event, we have wifi and magazines to pass the time.

What to expect after your procedure

Your technician will provide you with after-care instructions. Following the post care is most important. The first thing to remember is to not touch the brows! The brows will darken over the next 2-3 days. In addition, you may experience itchiness as the brows begin to heal and scab. In due time, scabbing will shed. Consequently, the true colour is revealed.

Although your brows may look great on the initial date of service, once shed and healed, the results may differ. We want to ensure that your brows are up to par with your expectations, and for that reason, we include a complimentary Refresher session in our microblading services.

Microblading vs Tattoo

microblading vs tattoo

What is the difference?

When deciding which service to go for- Microblading vs Tattoo- ask yourself two questions: How long do I want it to last? What do I want it to look like?

There are 2 main differences between microblading vs tattooing. One is the esthetic of the brow: microblading gives a natural appearance because it’s delivered strand by strand. It is meant to mimic natural hair growth and the fibres of the hair. On the other hand, tattooing has a solid finish, there is no separation between the colour.

However, microshading or powdered ombre give the same look as a tattoo but with a gradient because you are not going that deep.

The other main difference is the longevity. Tattoos last the longest whereas microblading or microshading will last half the time. A true permanent makeup tattoo lasts 5-6 yrs, microblading or microshading lasts 1-3 years.

The reason for the difference is not the product itself. Instead, it’s the depth of penetration of the layer in which you are depositing that ink. With microblading you are depositing at an artificIal layer, however, with tattoos you’re depositing closer to the dermis so you are in the deeper levels of the skin.

Different Tools

microblading tools

Microblading uses hand-held tools and the technician manually breaks the skin in a scratching motion. With microshading, the technician uses a power tool, however, it also used manually. As the technician is scratching with the tool, the tool is also vibrating.

Brow tattoos are delivered using a permanent makeup machine.

A tip to the wise

The thing to remember with permanent makeup tattooing is that the pigment is in the skin for very long. The actual composition of that pigment is going to change overtime. This occurs because certain colours absorb out of the skin before others. So when you see the salmon-coloured eyebrows- you can assume those are the last layers of the tattoo.

How many days after microblading should I shower?

What happens if you don't like your microbladed eyebrows

There are some post-treatment instructions to follow after microblading. Knowing the post-treatment instructions beforehand can help you best prepare for the big day. A common question clients ask is, “How many days after microblading should I shower?

Technically you can shower right away after microblading as long as you avoid soaking the area. Soaking can result from shampooing or washing. As long as you have visible scabs, you should be quick with your showers, or opt for baths.

You are safe to return to regular once those scabs have shed and your skin is smooth and healed. Until then, soaking can result in you losing those scabs prematurely. This is problematic because your skin needs to heal around that colour first, and drop the scab naturally. If removed prematurely, even one tiny fibre, it may end up pulling an entire hair stroke.

Can i wear makeup after microblading?

You can wear makeup anywhere around your face and lashes. However, we recommend that you avoid anything over the brow area.

In addition, stay away from makeup that contains any type of shimmer/metallic glitter. Whether it’s on the face or around the eyes this should be avoided at all costs. These products have small metallic particles that can get lodged in the colour causing it to change shades or cause infection.

Botched Brows?

what happens if you don't like your microbladed eyebrows
Laser tattoo removal is an option to remove microblading.

What happens if you don’t like your microbladed eyebrows?

The best defence is a strong offence. Avoid regret by doing thorough research on the establishment, the technician, and the service itself. However, we must keep in mind that the recipient of a microblading service also has a responsibility to ensure adequate healing post procedure. Adequate healing results in maximum results. We recommend you follow post-care instructions to a T.

However, if you don’t like your microbladed eyebrows, there are removal services that you can have done. Our recommendation above all the saline tattoo removal method. There is a saline solution made of salt and purified water that is placed over the area and into the skin. The solution lifts the colour and then you peel the flap of skin off. Though it is very painful, it is a professional service that should protect your existing eyebrow hair.

If you have no existing eyebrow in the area or you’re not concerned about losing hair, you can do laser tattoo removal. You probably wouldn’t need too many sessions considering the depth of penetration and the colours that are in there. Microblading rarely has blues or greens which are the hardest colours to get out through laser tattoo removal.

Another option are colour correctors. These are skin-coloured pigments that can be microbladed over the area.

What does microblading look like after 2 years?

The decision to have microblading is not a light one. Because the procedure is semipermanent, many people as, “What does microblading look like after 2 years?” Well, after two years you are going to see the last layers of colour in the skin. In other words, you are able to see the last colour that makes up any given colour.

For example, brown is not just brown. It is made up of a mixture of primary colours. Depending on the base of the chosen colour, red is usually the last to leave the skin. Therefore, you will see a peach undertone or light pink/mauve colour after two years.

However, the answer to the question “What does microblading look like after 2 years?” is not the same for everyone. Some people’s skin retains pigment exceptionally well. We have seen some clients whose microblading lasted over two years. Due to their natural hair colour, the remaining pigment blends right in. That is the reason for the major flexibility with our Refresher.

The Refresher can be booked anytime from 6 weeks to 12 months following the initial procedure. We ask that a minimum of 40% of the initial shape must be present for the Refresher. As stated above, this time varies per person.
